Tændkabel Tændkabler er en overset, men afgørende del af motorens tændingssystem, og hos Hansen Racing finder du dem i flere farver og fra flere velkendte mærker. Uanset om du skal skifte et enkelt kabel eller opgradere hele sættet med et bestemt look, er det vigtigt at kende funktionen bag kablet og tænke over både teknik og udseende, før du vælger. Sådan fungerer tændkablet Tændkablet fører den kraftige elektriske impuls fra strømfordeleren eller tændspolen videre til tændrøret, hvor den udløser den gnist, der antænder brændstofblandingen i cylinderen. Fordi spændingen i kablet kan komme op på omkring 10.000 volt, er kablets kerne af kobber omgivet af et tykt lag gummi, der isolerer og beskytter mod lækstrøm og kortslutning til motorblokken. Denne isolering skal både kunne modstå den elektriske belastning og den varme, der opstår i motorrummet, uden at blive sprød eller revne over tid. Slidte eller beskadigede tændkabler kan give ustabil tænding, tab af effekt og i værste fald fejltænding, fordi gnisten ikke når frem med fuld styrke. Et tegn på et svækket kabel kan være ujævn tomgang eller mærkbart rykvis kørsel, især ved koldstart, hvor isoleringen presses mest. Derfor bør kablerne holdes hele og fri for revner, og de bør skiftes, hvis gummilaget viser tegn på slid, sprødhed eller misfarvning. Da kablerne sidder tæt på motorens varmeste dele, er kvaliteten af gummilaget også afgørende for, hvor længe kablet holder under daglig kørsel og under hyppig opvarmning og afkøling af motoren. Farve som en del af valget Ud over selve funktionen kan tændkablets farve også spille en rolle for mange bilejere. Kablerne fås i flere udgaver - blandt andet blå, gul, rød og sort - så du kan tilpasse udseendet under motorhjelmen efter din egen smag eller efter bilens øvrige farvetema. For mange, der bruger tid på at pudse og vise motorrummet frem, er et sæt kabler i en gennemgående farve en enkel måde at give helheden et mere gennemført præg på, uden at det kræver større indgreb i resten af motoren. Farven ændrer ikke ved kablets tekniske egenskaber, men det er alligevel værd at overveje, når flere kabler alligevel skal placeres synligt øverst i motorrummet, hvor de er nemme at få øje på. Vælg en farve, der passer til resten af opsætningen - for eksempel til ventildæksler eller andre synlige motordele - og hold dig til ét gennemgående valg, hvis du ønsker et ensartet og gennemført look på tværs af alle cylindre. Mærke og kompatibilitet Tændkablerne kommer fra flere anerkendte navne inden for tænding og ydelse, herunder Accel, Edelbrock, Holley, MSD Ignition, Pertronix Ignitor og Standard Motors. Mærkerne dækker både klassiske erstatningskabler til den daglige bil og kabler udviklet med et ekstra fokus på ydelse, hvilket gør det muligt at vælge et produkt, der matcher både bilens alder og dit ambitionsniveau for motoren. For lange eller for korte kabler kan give en dårligere forbindelse og øget risiko for, at fugt og snavs trænger ind ved samlingerne.
